There are a few different hormones produced by your thyroid. These hormones are responsible for regulating the speed of your metabolism including your body’s ability to burn fat and metabolise foods.
A healthy thyroid is essential for not only keeping a healthy lean physique but for an anabolic atmosphere as well.
Too little thyroid inhibits your ability to build muscle as fast as possible while too much can create problems building muscle.
Dietary factors affecting thyroid levels include the number of calories you eat per day and how frequently you eat. For optimal thyroid levels, I recommend never eating less then 50% of your daily maintenance calories for more than three days. Eating frequent meals every two to three hours is one means to help keep thyroid levels optimal.
Diets high in fibre help to optimise thyroid response. A minimum 30 grams fibre per day is recommended while 60 grams per day is maximum required for optimal metabolism.
